How AAC anchors differ from ordinary wall plugs

AAC anchors are made to grip the aerated body of a lightweight block. AAC is lighter and softer than clay brick, so ordinary plastic plugs tend to spin or pull out under a heavy load. AAC anchors spread the load through the block and hold cabinets, shelves and household fixtures securely.

Types and uses

  • M6 anchor with screw for medium loads such as shelves, mirrors, towel rails and wall lights.
  • M8 anchor with screw for heavier loads such as wall cabinets, TVs and water heaters.
  • FMD 6x32 and 8x38: choose by screw size and hole depth.

Benefits and how to use them

Anchors designed for AAC reduce loose holes and crumbling around the fixing. Drill with the specified bit size without hammer mode, spread heavy loads over several anchors, and note that G4 AAC blocks hold heavy loads better than G2. For cabinets or water heaters, mark the positions before plastering and keep clear of buried pipes and cables.
