120x240 cm (4x8 ft) is the standard sheet for drywall ceilings and partitions. One sheet covers 2.88 m², so a 20 m² room needs about 7 sheets, plus 5-10% for offcuts. Choose the thickness and grade to suit the room.
Types and uses
- 9 mm board for ceilings; 12 mm board or 15 mm board for walls
- moisture-resistant board for bathrooms and kitchens, heat-resistant board for top-floor ceilings
- fire-rated board and sound-rated board for walls with special requirements
- tapered-edge board for seamless joints, square-edge board where joints aren't taped
