What is rubber waterstop used for, and what types are there?

Concrete poured at different times forms a construction joint that water can seep through, and expansion or movement of the structure can cause cracks. Installing rubber waterstop in the joint is a widely used way to prevent leaks. It is used in dams, weirs, tunnels, basements, swimming pools and roof decks, and made to Royal Irrigation Department standards, TIS 1135-2544 and AASHTO.

• Drumbell Type: the common type for concrete joints.
• High Efficiency Type (HT): specially designed, for locations with vibration or high concrete expansion and contraction.
• J Type (JT): rubber seal for water gates, in 4 inch and 5 inch sizes.
