How do septic and wastewater treatment tanks work, and how to choose one?

A combined anaerobic treatment tank puts the septic and anaerobic filter principles in one tank. Microbes break down waste until it settles, before the effluent is discharged to the public drain. Some models add media for microbes to attach to so treatment is faster. HDPE tanks take little space, are durable, hard to crack and easy to install, which suits homes with limited space or a high water table.
