How do you install a grease trap, and which type suits your site?

Grease traps suit restaurants and ordinary home kitchens. The sink waste pipe is routed into the grease trap first, and the outlet pipe then runs to the public drain or on to a wastewater treatment tank, so the discharged water meets standards.

  • Under-sink type: compact, for kitchens with limited space
  • Floor-standing above-ground type: placed beside the dishwashing point
  • Underground type: for kitchens that need a larger tank

Tanks are made from polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP).
