What is VIVA Board and how is it different from Smart Board?
VIVA Board is a cement bonded particle board, pressed from wood particles and cement to TIS 878. Unlike Smart Board, which is fiber cement, the sheet is denser and heavier, so it carries load and impact well. That is why VIVA Board is popular for mezzanine floors and walls that need extra strength.
Ranges and applications
- Smooth VIVA Board: 6-8 mm for ceilings, 10-16 mm for walls and 20-24 mm VIVA floor boards for mezzanines.
- VIVA HD: 10 and 12 mm, extra dense, for bathroom walls and wet areas.
- VIVA Decor: wood and stone finishes, 8-24 mm, that need no paint. More patterns in wood-grain cement board.
Benefits of VIVA Board
Strong, impact resistant, water and termite resistant and fire tested to BS 476. The face works as an exposed floor or loft-style wall and holds screws firmly. For lighter ceilings and everyday walls, see fiber cement board instead.
