What is slotted angle used for, and how much load can it carry?
Painted slotted angle (to TIS 659-2529) is used to assemble storage shelving in warehouses, factories, homes and car parks, as well as trolleys, stairs, benches and drying racks. It assembles without welding or drilling and is easy to dismantle and modify.
It comes in two types, unequal-leg 2-1/4 x 1-1/2 inch and equal-leg 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch, in 1.8 and 2.0 mm thickness. Example column loads for the unequal-leg type (values from the manufacturer's table):
