Metal sheet has 2 major types which are available in Thailand. One is Galvalume Metal Sheet which has the combination of aluminum and zinc coated over the surface of the metal. The other one is prepainted metal sheet. This type of pre painted metal sheets are available in various colors and nowadays even have 3D printing color. Metal sheet has its key benefit which is to serve rural roofing. Apart from using it for factory or warehouse structure, the metal sheet is mostly used for temporary usages and mostly distributed across the low income area. What profiles does metal sheet come in, and how should it be insulated?
Metal sheet is made from cold-rolled steel coated with zinc, then painted with two coats on both the top and underside. It forms easily without the paint cracking or peeling. Choose the profile to suit the job:
- Safedeck profile: roofs, walls and ceilings of general buildings
- Winner 38 profile: roofs of large buildings, walls and ceilings
- QL 70H profile: screw-free clip fixing system
- Strongdeck profile: walls and ceilings
Coated steel can rust at drilled holes and cut edges when exposed to moisture, and resists acids and alkalis poorly in harsh settings such as chemical plants or livestock farms. Add roof insulation under the sheet, such as 3-10 mm PE foam or foil-faced air-bubble insulation, supplied in 0.9 m wide rolls.
