Heat-resistant gypsum board with a foil backing that reflects radiant heat from the roof space, keeping rooms cooler and easing the load on air conditioning. 9 and 12 mm 120x240 cm boards plus foam-backed ThermaLine in 29, 44 and 59 mm, from SCG, Gyproc, Knauf, TOA and GM.

How heat-resistant ceiling board works
Heat-resistant gypsum board has aluminum foil or EPS foam on the back. The foil reflects radiant heat coming down from the roof, and the foam slows heat transfer, so rooms below stay cooler and the AC works less. Use it on top-floor ceilings directly under the roof.
Types and uses
- Foil-backed: 9 and 12 mm, 120x240 cm, for drywall ceilings, such as HeatBloc Plus and WeatherBloc
- Foam-backed: 29 mm foam-backed board plus 44 and 59 mm Gyproc ThermaLine for more insulation
- T-bar: heat-resistant T-bar tiles for shops and offices
